Tell us about your service experience. I have been through a few instances while under way that were dangerous, but I knew that with the training we received, we could overcome any casualty, which we obviously did, since I am here typing this response.

What are some of your memorable experiences in college? As an Accelerated Degree Program student, I am not on campus that much, but I would have to say that so far, just registering for classes after being out of school for so long was my most memorable experience.

Any favorite classes? Prof. Carl Colavito made class interesting and opened my eyes to the science of philosophy.

Tell us about JU’s role in your transition to civilian life. While I had already transitioned to the civilian community, I can see many offerings by JU to help the newly separated service member make the transition. From the Student Veterans of America organization to the Veterans representatives in the Registrar’s Office, everyone has been extremely supportive and helpful.

What might surprise others about you? I was a submariner. All too often, people feel my size would have made it difficult, but modern submarines are surprisingly roomy.
