The Jacksonville University's TRIO Student Support Services is dedicated to raising the retention and graduation rate of Low-income, first generation students and students with disabilities at Jacksonville University. Gaining skills and knowledge for postsecondary success and beyond, this program will help students develop a strong support system within the JU community to FACILITATE ENRICHING LEARNING EXPERIENCES BOTH ACADEMICALLY AND SOCIALLY. Services offered by TRIO Student Support Services include:

Jacksonville University’s Upward Bound program provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their precollege performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. Upward Bound serves: high school students from low-income families and high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's degree who are preparing to enter postsecondary education. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.
Jacksonville University’s Upward Bound program provides instruction in math, laboratory science, composition, literature, and foreign language. Other services include:
- Instruction in reading, writing, study skills, and other subjects necessary for success in education beyond high school
- Academic, financial, or personal counseling
- Exposure to academic programs and cultural events
- Tutorial services
- Mentoring programs
- Information on postsecondary education opportunities
- Assistance in completing college entrance and financial aid applications
- Assistance in preparing for college entrance exams
- Work study positions to expose participants to careers requiring a postsecondary degree
The Jacksonville University's College Reach-Out Program (CROP) motivates and prepares students in grades 6 through 12 to pursue and successfully complete a postsecondary education. Participants are students who otherwise would be unlikely to seek admission to a community college, state university, or independent postsecondary institution without special support and recruitment efforts. The program enrolls most students in middle school, thereby preparing them early for future success in college. Almost 40 percent of the participating students are in grades 6-8. Summer on-campus residency programs and year-round contact with students, including academic and motivational sessions, further enhance the students' college aspirations.Other services include:
