With innovative practices and highly qualified faculty, Jacksonville University’s 100% online classroom has served the educational needs of working nurses with excellence for more than a decade.
Jacksonville, Fla.—Jacksonville University, a U.S. News & World Report-ranked and regionally accredited university, is proud to celebrate 10 years of providing high-quality education for registered nurses through its 100% online RN to BSN degree program. From the program’s inception, the university has been at the forefront of innovation, featuring streaming video as part of the curriculum.
Using video-based e-learning and interactive communication technology powered by Bisk Education’s University Alliance division, JU’s online classroom provides access to a quality education to U.S. licensed RNs across the country and around the world. JU’s learning environment is ideal for both civilian nurses, as well as military nurses stationed worldwide.
“Jacksonville University is proud to have been able to offer quality online learning for RNs for the past decade. We are all committed to continuing to deliver nursing education with excellence to RNs, regardless of where they live,” says Judith M. Erickson, Ph.D., CNS, BC, dean of JU’s School of Nursing. “We have been exceptionally proud of the growth of both the bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and look forward to educating another decade of nurse leaders.”
The university’s online nursing program’s long history began with the launch of the RN to BSN degree in 2001. Since then, thousands of students have pursued a degree and graduated with JU online. As the number of online RN to BSN students grew, JU recognized the need to respond to the increasing demands for master’s-prepared RNs. In 2010, the university launched its campus-based Master of Science in nursing programs online, offering two specializations – Nursing Education and Leadership in Healthcare Systems. These degrees not only allow JU BSN graduates to continue graduate studies online, but they also allow nurses to access CCNE-accredited programs no matter where they live.
“Bisk Education, along with its University Alliance division, is excited to partner with Jacksonville University and to have been a part of advancing the professional development of some of our nation’s most accomplished nurses over the last decade, and we look forward to providing a quality educational environment for years to come,” says Adrian Marrullier, executive vice president, sales and marketing for Bisk Education. “This milestone is a testament to the quality of education our students receive. The strength of our partnership with Jacksonville University continues to grow, as together, we provide a superior online education to nurses around the world.”
JU has opened doors for working registered nurses to continue their education without interrupting family and career obligations. Using doctoral-trained faculty members who are experts in teaching online to facilitate each course, the university has consistently graduated nurses who are self-assured, competent professionals capable of making compassionate and sound healthcare decisions.
