The Jacksonville University Sporting Clays, Skeet and Trap Team (JUSSTC) was founded by Head Coach David Dobson, Academic Advisor Dr. Priscilla Berry and Club President Justin Felker in the Fall of 2009. JUSSTC is currently going on its third year as a club, and we have the proud distinction of being the 2011 Division III ACUI National Champions. In December 2011, JUSSTC officially became a Varsity Team. We practice Wednesday and Friday afternoons, as well as Saturday mornings and encourage our members to get out and practice in their spare time. Our home club is the Jacksonville Skeet & Trap Club (www.jacksonvilleskeetandtrapclub.com), but we also visit WW Sporting Clays (www.wwsportingclays.com) and Amelia Shotgun Sports (www.ameliashotgunsports.com). Since guns and ammunition are strictly prohibited on campus due to Federal law, we store our guns and ammo at an offsite location. Team members have access to the gun safe at all times during normal business hours. In order for our club to continue to operate, there is a dues charge, and we work with all club members in making this element practical and affordable. As we continue along our road to intercollegiate success, it is esciting to announce that we are now offically a Varsity Sport at JU. Even though we are a hybrid "club/Varsity". we compete as if we are a Carsity against other Collegiate Clubs and Varsities. We welcome all newcomers, experienced and non, and if you have never had the joy of shooting clays, we will teach you!
