Jacksonville University administers its financial aid program without regard to race, color, sex, religion, age, handicap, or national origin and complies with the nationally established policy of meeting demonstrated need. Financial need is defined as the difference between the student's resources (parent's contribution, student contribution, savings, etc.) and the total cost of attending Jacksonville University (tuition, fees, room, board, books, transportation and personal expenses).
Numerous scholarships, grants-in-aid, service awards and campus employment are offered without reference to demonstrated need. Students who wish to receive financial aid from Jacksonville University must first be accepted for admission. Returning students who apply for financial aid are required to maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined on pages 33 and 45 of the current Catalog.
Financial aid offers usually are made in "packages". This means your award could be made up of one or more of the five basic sources: scholarships, grants, service awards, student employment and loans. Students who receive aid from outside sources such as local church groups, clubs, service organizations and businesses must report these awards to the Financial Aid Office. We are required to count these awards as part of the student's resources for college.
Pell Grants, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants, College Work Study, Perkins Loans, Stafford Student Loans (GSL) or PLUS and Unsubsidized Stafford Loans are funded by the Federal Government.
