Davis Student Commons General Policies
- A valid JU ID is required for use of all activity areas.
- Users must be 16 years of age or older, unless accompanied by an adult, and
must provide proof of age upon request.
- Users of the Billie Nimnicht Jr. Fitness Center must be 16 years of age or
older and if under 18, must be accompanies by an adult (unless they are an
enrolled JU student).
- Shirt and shoes must be worn at all times in the building
- Smoking and tobacco use of any type are not permitted in the Davis Student
Commons.
- Students and Groups cannot bring in outside food when utilizing Commons
programming and meeting space.
- Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the Davis Student Commons, without
prior approval.
- Florida laws and Jacksonville University policies regarding illegal
substances will be strictly enforced.
- Personal radios are not permitted unless used with headphones.
- Bicycles, skateboards, roller skates, and roller blades are not permitted in
the building.
- Pets are not permitted, except for animals providing assistance to
individuals with disabilities.
- Davis Student Commons staff will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.
- All Davis Student Commons users are expected to be responsible, courteous,
and safety conscious at all times. Users who disregard this policy will be
asked to leave the facility and may be suspended from use of the Student
Commons.

Eligible Users
- All users of the Davis Student Commons must present a valid Jacksonville
University ID for admission to the activity areas.
- Current JU students, faculty, staff or employee dependents.
- Guests who wish to use the activity areas must be accompanied by a student,
alumnus, faculty or staff member at all times.
- The number of users admitted to the facility may be restricted, based on
facility demand.
- All Davis Student Commons users agree to be personally responsible for their
behavior and safety and hold harmless Jacksonville University and all
Jacksonville University employees.
Davis Student Commons Guests
- All guests using the activity areas must be accompanied by a student,
alumnus, faculty or staff member (except registered Fitness Center Guest
Members).
- Students, alumni, faculty or staff are responsible for the conduct and
actions of their guests.
- A student, alumnus, faculty or staff member may bring a maximum of two (2)
guests at one time. Dependents are not permitted to bring guests.
- Guests may not check out equipment (except registered Fitness Center Guest
Members). Students, alumni, faculty or staff must check out and be responsible
for equipment used by their guests.
- Individuals seeking admittance to the Davis Student Commons may not solicit
members to sponsor them as a guest.
- Davis Student Commons staff reserves the right to refuse admittance to a
guest.
Conduct of Davis Student Commons Users
All Davis Student Commons users are expected to be responsible, courteous,
and safety conscious at all times. Students are expected to abide by the
Jacksonville University Code of Student Conduct. Disorderly conduct, abuse or
misuse of the facility and its equipment, or disregard for the Davis Student
Commons policies will not be tolerated. Users who disregard policy will be
asked to leave the facility and may be suspended from use of the Student
Commons.
